Literature Text

We fight your wars
As the men and women you needed
We protect your rights
and freedoms you take for granted

We are visible to you
On the day you celebrate us
We are visible to you
the day we mourn our loss

We lose millions
But not to war
and thousands suffer
Because of it

We have no homes
You expected us to die
We have no hopes
And we want to die

Why do you forget we exist
And think our struggles are meaningless?
Why are we unforgivable?
Why are we the ruined?

We are only celebrated
On the day you choose
But several thousand of us
Have given all we can lose
It's amazing when you listen to BYOB (System of a Down), War pigs (Black Sabbath),  One (Metallica) and Wrong Side of Heaven (Five Finger Death Punch) together how many metal bands actually have depth.

So yeah, I guess you can figure out what this poem is about, and coming from me, a person who is normally against war and violence as an answer, this is pretty big.

I guess to me the biggest problem I have with war, is that everyone is expected to die, so when somebody returns before the war ends it's almost as if they never went to war at all.
